30 in 30, Day Eight




Not to be confused with a pear, Quince is quite different and wonderful, in its own way.  Quince are not good to eat off the tree since they are extremely sour.  Extremely sour.  Quince are most often cooked with plenty of sugar and become a beautiful pink jelly that tastes very much like very fragrant honey.  Here is a recipe I have used in the past, in case you happen to have a Quince tree lazily dropping fruit for you to find.
