Where Sea Meets Sky

 Where Sea Meets Sky

Summer beach time brings soothing, sometimes exciting, magical moments.  Especially when a few (non-threatening) clouds appear to catch that Golden Hour of sun as it kisses the horizon.

New Tide

 New Tide

The tide goes out.  The tide comes in.  And so it goes.

I adore the beach.  I was lucky enough to spend a few days there this month and they were spectacular days.

Destin Sunset -- SOLD

Florida's Emerald Coast

The name does have a lovely ring, doesn't it?

I guess I am dreaming of the beach.  I haven't made it there yet this year.  Too many busy projects to take time to relax.  Soon, I hope.

No. 2 Sunrise Virginia Beach

 No. 2 Sunrise Virginia Beach

No, you're not seeing double.  I liked this sunrise so much I wanted to paint it again.  A few changes in this one from the first.  Both have admirable qualities and I truly do like them both.

Sunrise Virginia Beach

Sunrise Virginia Beach

If I can wake up early enough, I often find some really brilliant sunrises.  This painting is from a photo I took in Virginia Beach, VA last summer.

30 in 30, Day Six

Still pining for warmth and sun when it's grey and cold, I found a beautiful ceramic plate at a local shop that made me think of the soft, lovely colors of sea glass.  To go with it, some oranges that come of course, from Florida and Mexico.

The name of this one is fun, and I hope it gives you a little smile.  Use your imagination.  As with human cousins, some are eager to get close to the baby, while others hang back and wait to see what will happen.

30 in 30, Day Five

Day Five.  It doesn't sound like a lot but this is more painting than I have done in the past three months.  This is a good thing.  Like exercising a muscle, it will become easier.

Since it is still freezing, I thought I would like to visit the beach again... (and again... and again.)  Perhaps Hawaii should be in my future.  I wish.

30 in 30, Day Three

Today's snow makes me want a warm beach.  Don't worry, more Poinsettia paintings will come later.  But today my cold bones need a gorgeous beach sunset.  Which beach this was, or who took the photo, I don't recall.  If this is your photo that I lifted from FaceBook, let me know and I will be happy to credit you.
